FG Mike Arroyo Denies Issues of Money Laundering

Mike Arroyo in an interview in Washington DC said that the issued about him not going to the US because he may be arrested because of money laundering are all lies. Kasinungalingan ho yon. Ilang beses na kong pumunta sa America. Ang bumabantay po sa akin...meron akong escort, [US] Secret Service, so walang nagaaresto sa akin. Puro malisyoso lang yung mga nagsasabi nun. Paninira lang yun," Mr. Arroyo said. "At saka wala akong bank account dito. So yung sinasabi nilang money laundering, hindi po totoo yon. Paano magma-money laundering ako, wala ako ni bank account dito. Wala kaming property, Wala kaming stocks. Wala maski ano. So how can that be? Saka hindi totoong iniimbestigahan kami ng FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation)," he added. He said that it is former President Joseph Estrada and Senator Panfilo Lacson who can't go to the US because they have an espionage case involving Michael Ray Aquino, and Filipino-American Leandro Aragoncillo.

When Arroyo meets Obama For the First Time

Finally Philippine President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and US President Barack Obama met on Thursday afternoon (early Friday morning in Manila time) at the White House. The meeting lasted for about 45 minutes and was held at the Oval Office. Ms. Arroyo was accompanied by several people: Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita, Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago, House Speaker Prospero Nograles, presidential adviser on climate change Heherson Alvarez, Foreign Affairs Secretary Alberto Romulo and Philippine Ambassador to the US Willy Gaa. "We are proud to have 4 million persons of Filipino ancestry contributing to our country each and every day in all walks of life. The fact that we have Filipino veterans who have walked side by side with American soldiers on behalf of freedom, all those things that have strengthened the relations of our two countries," he said hailing the relationship between the two allies. "I am very pleased that President Arroyo has made such good progress on

Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo's 9th and final SONA

“At the end of this speech, I shall step down from this stage but not from the presidency…” Pres. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo said in her final SONA (State of the Nation Address) this afternoon, 27th of July, 2009. While wearing a purple terno on her final SONA (which is actually her 9th) at the House of Representatives that started and ended with a standing ovation, she addressed to all the citizens of the Philippines that she “never expressed desire” to extend herself beyond her term. Ms. Arroyo stressed that before her term will expire next year, she will fight for the ordinary Filipino and that there is much to do as the president until the last days. Arroyo also pointed out that a year is a long time and will continue to invest in the economy, the education and the environment. She also added that after this final SONA, contrary to what her critics says, there will be more work and less politics. She pointed out on the first part of her speech that when her father left the presidency

Political Tactics: Mar Roxas and Korina Sanchez 2

This is a report of SNN (Showbiz News Night) about Sen. Mar Roxas and Korina Sanchez about the senator's proposal and their love story of course. They went to Tagaytay and granted some pictures to be taken by their fans even they are on vacation for the Holy Week. Well, celebrities...

Political Tactics: Mar Roxas and Korina Sanchez

I'm sorry but first thing that will come to my mind when I see this couple is: "Are they really in love?" They guested at Wowowee, a popular noontime show here in the Philipines. Well, that's my question, is it all publicity? Did they used the program's popularity to attract more audience? They are also interviewed by Mr. Willie Revillame which is the host of the program and Yes! Magazine's Top in the 50 Most Powerful People in Showbiz in 2008 (Entertainers Category). Maybe or maybe not just because of the publicity? You decide. P.S. Is crying on the first part of the interview a good acting for him to prove that he really loves Korina?

Premature Political Ads: Mar Roxas

Let me share to you a commercial by Mar Roxas This is a typical commercial where the politicians uses the masses as their subject in their propaganda. They use this to show that they really care about them. I don't know why he said in this that "I'll do the job" while he took the place of the young boy in the "pedicab". I think it's better that he will just give the boy and his younger sister money or food. "Pedicab" is a type of transportation where a bicycle is attached on a personalized "body" which is made up of a chair and additional wheels

Premature Political Ads: Manny Villar 3

This commercial is connected to my previous post example. The title is Premature Political Ads This commercial makes me think a little bit because of what the lady said on the last part of the ad. For you who doesn't understand our national language, Filipino, it is translated as "It's okay to eat salt [as a viand] as long as I have my own house." I really hope she didn't mean what she said.

Premature Political Ads: Manny Villar 2

Hey, to clear things out, I'm not against Senator Manny Villar. I salute him for his hard work and his rug to riches story. I'm just showing here his other ad. This is Sen. Villar and Boy Abunda, a respected host in the Philipines.

This is an adveritisement showing Senator Manny Villar helping a stranded maltreated OFW. He shouldered the air fare. But before seeing the video, let me present some estimations. This is taken from a travel shop online Which when converted to Philippine Peso is more or less 34,000. This is taken from a exchange rate converter That's ONLY the air fare. Not to mention the food and all necessities that the said OFW needs. When this advertisement is still fresh, it airs how many times a day. Air time costs about 30,000 to 50,000 per 30 secs. Multiplied by the times it aired in a day... You do the math. My point is Sen. Villar could help other OFWs who are stranded and maltreated. If you want to see his advertisement, click the link below to watch the video.

From Hayden's Scandal to President Arroyo's Breast Implants

The attention of the masses from the sex-video scandals of Hayden Kho and his senate hearings against Katrina Halili shifted to our own president, Ms. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. The initial issue was: did our president has a breast implant? “What’s wrong with the President having had breast implants?” Press Secretary Cerge Remonde asked a day after denying Arroyo had such a breast implant. For us, nothing. But why did the palace denied of her having a breast implant on the first place? It's not the press secretary's fault. First of all, Mr. Remonde didn't knew that Ms. Arroyo, who checked into the Asian Hospital for self-quatantine, would also check if there was a "leaking breast implant". The day after that incident, he denied the rumors by showing pictures of then flat-chested Arroyo asking if that would be the picture if she had a breast implant. Later on that day, realizing that hospitals have medical records, admitted that Ms. Arroyo had a breast implant years

New and Faster Projects For Incoming Election

Upon returning here in Cagayan de Oro from my hometown, I noticed that there is an increase of the total time of my travel. If taking a public utility vehicle (specifically a bus) it only takes about 4 hours, but now, it's about 4 and a half to 5 hours. The main reason for this delay is mainly because of the "reconstruction" of the roads. Is it because the roads are damaged? Partially yes and partially no. To be fair in this blog, there are also roads that need to be repaired, but oftentimes, the roads need not to be repaired because only some of its lanes' cements are alright to pass but not that in top condition. My point is: Why now? Why will you need to repair and reconstruct a road even it can still be used? Well, to answer the former question: The time is now because the election time is near. Politicians will use this project as an "achievement". They will show us that they really care for us and they will serve us. They put their names in a big tarpa
