OFWs - heroes but somewhat neglected

"Last October, OFWs sent home cash worth $2.23 billion—the second highest monthly amount on record, exceeded only by the $2.32 billion remitted in December 2014. From January to October, cash remittances totaled $20.64 billion, up 3.7 percent from $19.91 billion a year ago. The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas expects remittances to increase to $25.6 billion this year from $24.35 billion in 2014." - Inquirer Opinions

This made me rethink, those people involved with "Tanim-Bala" are heartless.
I would like to prioritize this issue first, because this Christmas Season, I know there are a lot of OFWs who can't spend their Christmas and New Year with their family and love ones.

I have a lot of friends and family abroad that are OFWs or were living outside the Philippines. They might be OFWs or Immigrants, but one thing is for sure, they remit money to us here in the Philippines.

They suffer a lot of pains. May it be physically, mentally, even financially, but mostly - emotionally. SPECIALLY THIS SEASON.

Most of them confided in me that it hurts when they can't be there specially on special occasion because they just can't go home because of their contracts. Remember the movie "ANAK"?

I just can't imagine how can the government stomach this that the OFWs, the present day heroes, comes home landing at NAIA, and sometimes overpriced taxi fares, going home to their provinces with lubak-lubak na daan.

Not just the modern day heroes, but also all the pinoys, living inside or outside the country that contributed to the finances of the Philippines, may it be TAX or REMITTANCES can ask,
"WHERE DID OUR MONEY GO?"
